Oklahoma State is 11-10-1 and coming off a week in which it went 2-2 with road wins over Central Arkansas and Texas. The Cowboys will take the short trip down I-35 to Norman today to take on Bedlam rival Oklahoma in a non-conference midweek matchup at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, the Pokes open the home portion of their Big 12 Conference schedule when they host TCU in a three-game weekend series.

- Joe Linehard earned Oklahoma State's first Big 12 win of the 2018 season with a career effort last Friday night at Texas. The junior right-hander worked a career-high 8 1/3 innings and allowed just one run while striking out a career-best eight batters.
- Freshman catcher Jake Taylor welcomed Big 12 play against the Longhorns by going 3-for-4, including smacking his first-career home run, with a pair of RBIs on Friday. He finished the weekend 4-for-10 with three RBIs.
- Trevor Boone also enjoyed his first Big 12 game of 2018, going 3-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. The sophomore finished 4-for-10 against the Longhorns.
- Matt Kroon went 6-for-14 against Texas pitchers, including four doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. He now has eight doubles on the year, which is tied for the team lead, and he raised his batting average to .293. The junior also extended his streak of reaching base safely to 20 games.
- In four games last week, senior outfielder Jon Littell hit .438 (7-for-16) with a home run and a double.
- Freshman southpaw Noah Sifrit recorded his first-career win at Central Arkansas last Tuesday as he tossed three scoreless innings in relief and struck out five while allowing just one hit. Sifrit also had a relief appearance Saturday against Texas and allowed only one unearned run in 2 2/3 innings.
Big 12 Spotlight
- Carson Teel's 1.95 ERA ranks second in the Big 12, and he is also third in the league in strikeouts (40). Teel's three saves are tied for fifth, and he is holding hitters to a .205 batting average which ranks sixth in the Big 12.
- Colin Simpson's team-leading six home runs are tied for third in the Big 12 with TCU's Luken Baker and West Virginia's Kevin Brophy. Simpson is also 10th in RBIs with 22, and his .614 slugging percentage is good for seventh in the Big 12.
- Jonathan Heasley is tied for sixth in strikeouts with 36 and is averaging over a strikeout per inning.
- Tonight's contest marks the first of four scheduled Bedlam games during the 2018 season. The rivals will also meet for a Big 12 weekend series April 27-29, with the opening game in Stillwater and the final two games at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.
- OU is 17-9 on the year and coming off a sweep of West Virginia to begin Big 12 play. The Sooners scored 31 runs in three games against the Mountaineers.
- The Pokes are 168-152 all-time against Oklahoma, including a 16-6 record under head coach Josh Holliday.
