Cowboys To Perform For NFL Scouts At Pro Day
March 14, 2018 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football program hosts its annual pro day Thursday in Stillwater, with several Cowboys performing for about 45 NFL scouts, coaches, general managers and front office personnel who are expected to attend.
Starting at 10 a.m., the Cowboys will report to the weight room in Boone Pickens Stadium for physical measurements, then they will perform the vertical jump, bench press and broad jump. From there, the action moves to the Sherman Smith Indoor Training Center, where the Pokes will be timed in the 40-yard dash, the 20-yard shuttle, the 60-yard shuttle and the three-cone drill before going through position drills.
All-America quarterback Mason Rudolph and Biletnikoff Award-winning receiver James Washington are the day's headliners and are looking to bolster their draft stock with a strong showing. Both Rudolph and Washington have been projected as first-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft by various pundits, and Thursday could help them take a step toward making that a reality.
Safety Tre Flowers made a name for himself with a strong performance at the NFL Combine and is looking to continue that positive momentum. Receivers Marcell Ateman and Chris Lacy will also be squarely in the crosshairs of several NFL teams who will travel to Stillwater to see them perform on their home turf.
For offensive tackle Zach Crabtree and the rest of the Cowboys who did not attend the NFL Combine earlier in the month, pro day represents the best chance to display their talents and get noticed by a large number of scouts.
