OSU Sends Four Events to NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State track and field squad will send four events to the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas on March 9-10.
Senior Hassan Abdi qualified in the 5,000 meters, running a time of 13:41.91 at the Husky Classic three weeks ago, with his time still standing as the ninth-best in the nation. This will mark Abdi's second time at the NCAA Indoor Championships in an OSU uniform, with the first coming as part of the distance medley relay (DMR) team that took home first team All-America honors in 2017.
Molly Sughroue qualified in the mile for the Cowgirls with her time of 4:37.74 at the Husky Classic. Sughroue, a native of McCook, Nebraska, last competed in in the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2016, when she was a member of the DMR team that took home second team All-America honors.
Senior middle-distance standout Kaylee Dodd qualified in the 800 meters for the Cowgirls. Her mark of 2:04.52 at the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 10 puts her at No. 16 in the nation. Dodd is looking to improve on her ninth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships a season ago.
The Cowgirl DMR team is the final qualifier for the Pokes. The team qualified with its mark of 11:01.55 at the Alex Wilson Invitational two weeks ago, and is looking to improve on its No. 11 time in the country.
