Piccininni Named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestling redshirt sophomore Nick Piccininni has been named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Piccininni picked up a couple of ranked wins in Cowboy routs over Edinboro and Oklahoma last weekend. The Cowboy dropped Edinboro's No. 11 Sean Russell, 3-1, on Friday to lead the Pokes to a 34-6 win, before taking out Oklahoma's No. 16 Christian Moody, 8-2, to propel OSU to a 31-6 Bedlam triumph.

Piccininni is 17-3 on the season with four top-20 wins and a 10-3 dual record. The recognition marks the second weekly honor of his career.

The Cowboys will be back in action against new Big 12 foe Fresno State in Fresno, Calif., this Sunday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. CT.
