Cowboys in the NFL: Week 15
December 18, 2018 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER - Former Oklahoma State football standouts continued to leave their mark on the NFL this past weekend during the 15th week of the regular season. A look at some of the highlights:
Seahawks running back Chris Carson has been a tough tackle for opposing defenses all season long, but Sunday he put in the best shift of his young NFL career by racking up a career-high 119 rushing yards and one touchdown on 22 carries. Carson also caught a career-best six passes for 29 receiving yards against the 49ers.
The second-year tailback has logged 913 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground so far in 2018. He needs just 87 yards over the final two weeks of the regular season to become the first former OSU running back to cross the 1,000-yard mark since Tatum Bell logged 1,025 yards with the Broncos in 2006.Â
Â
Carson's teammate in Seattle, rookie cornerback Tre Flowers, also continued to build on a solid season with the Pacific Northwest franchise, as he logged two tackles against San Francisco to bring his total to 61 so far in 2018. Flowers has also defended six passes and forced three fumbles during his rookie campaign.
Â
On the opposite coast, Steelers rookie wide receiver James Washington continued to find his rhythm within Pittsburgh's offense. One week after making a huge catch-and-lateral play that gave the Steelers a late scoring opportunity, Washington led all Pittsburgh receivers with 65 yards on three catches, including a 32-yard reception that probably looked familiar to Cowboy fans across the country.Â
All three numbers were career-high marks for the rookie receiver and former Biletnikoff Award winner.
Â
Another Cowboy excelling in the pass-catching department in recent weeks has been Dallas tight end Blake Jarwin, who hauled in four Dak Prescott throws for 45 yards against the Colts. Jarwin's outing comes just one week after a career day against the Eagles that saw the former Cowboy Back catch seven passes for 56 yards.
Â
Some of the other highlights from OSU alums across the league include Marcell Ateman's two-catch day against Cincinnatti. Ateman has logged multiple receptions in all five of his appearances this season. Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah notched two tackles in Cleveland's 17-16 victory in Denver and Vikings kicker Dan Bailey booted two fields in Minnesota's blowout of the Dolphins.

Tre Flowers earned a grade of 80.3, fifth-best among cornerbacks this weekend. He was targeted once and made a pass deflection while also recording a run stop.
