Simpson Named Preseason All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – Oklahoma State's Colin Simpson has been tabbed a 2019 Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American, it was announced today by the publication.
A senior for the Cowboys, Simpson was named to the Preseason All-America Third Team as an outfielder.
Simpson is coming off a junior season in which he hit .280 and led OSU with 18 home runs and 51 RBIs, with 10 of his homers and 25 of his RBIs coming in Big 12 Conference play. He also topped the Cowboys with 37 walks and a .578 slugging percentage.
Simpson's 18 homers were the most by an OSU player since 2008, and the total ranked second in the Big 12 and 17th nationally in 2018.
Along with those numbers, Simpson's eight stolen bases, 63 hits and 48 runs scored ranked second on the club, while his 13 doubles was third.
Named the 2018 ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region First Team catcher, Simpson was also an All-Big 12 Second Team performer behind the dish and started all 58 games for the Cowboys. He earned all-tournament honors at the NCAA DeLand Regional after helping OSU to the tourney finals.
Simpson enters his final collegiate season with 31 homers, 24 doubles and 100 RBIs in 143 career games.
