Viktor Hovland Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State's Viktor Hovland has been named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for October. The honor marks the second time he has received the distinction during his career.
The Cowboy junior opened the month with a 4-1 record at the Big 12 Match Play tournament in Houston. Hovland then posted a 4-under total of 206 to share medalist honors with teammate Matthew Wolff and Pepperdine's Clay Feagler at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate while helping the Cowboys to their second win of the fall.
The No. 1-ranked player in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ranking, Hovland posted a 68 to finish first at the East Lake Cup before tallying a 2-0 match play record at the event.
Hovland and teammate Zach Bauchou are in the field at this week's PGA stop, the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
