STILLWATER - Oklahoma State football rounds out a wild regular season this Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas against a TCU squad that has battled through varying forms of adversity all year long.
In particular, coach Gary Patterson's squad has been marred by injuries, and all indications point toward Grayson Muehlstein starting for the Horned Frogs against a resurgent Cowboy defense.
Muehlstein has seen the field in a limited capacity in 2018, completing 12 of his 18 passes for 148 yards and one score, while also carrying the ball 13 times.Â
TCU"s most potent skill-position player this season has been wide receiver Jalen Reagor, who has amassed 970 yards on 64 catches and scored eight touchdowns. Reagor has scored a receiving touchdown in six straight games, tying former TCU standout Josh Doctson for the school record.
In the backfield, the Horned Frogs are led statistically Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua, as the pair has tallied near 1,000 yards on the ground between them. TCU, however, is expected to without its top two runners, and will instead turn toward the talented Emari Demercado to carry the load.
Demercado has recorded 37 carries for 162 yards so far in 2018.
TCU's defense has also continued to be the staple of its team like most Patterson-led squads of recent years.
Garret Wallow is the Horned Frogs' leading tackler with 70 total stops this year. He is followed by Arico Evans and Ridwan Issahaku, who have 65 and 62 total tackles, respectively. TCU's defensive unit has also racked up 76 tackles for loss so far this season, with Ben Banogu's 16 TFL and 7.5 sacks providing the largest chunk by any one Horned Frog defender.
Saturday's matchup is a key one for both squads, as the Cowboys look to build on a comeback win over No. 7 West Virginia, while TCU has one last shot at securing bowl eligibility this season. Kick off at Amon G. Carter Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on FOX.
