Wallace A Biletnikoff Finalist

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wide receiver Tylan Wallace is one three national finalists for the 2018 Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Monday.
This marks the fifth time a Cowboy has been named a finalist for the award, which is presented to the nation's outstanding receiver, regardless of position. He joins James Washington (2017 winner), Justin Blackmon (2010 and 2011 winner) and Dez Bryant (2008 finalist) as OSU finalists in the award's history. Oklahoma State receivers have won three total Biletnikoff Awards, which is more than any other school.
The other two finalists for this year's award are Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy and UMass receiver Andy Isabella.
After 11 games, Wallace leads the nation in 10-yard catches, yards per reception (min. 60 catches), 100-yard games and 200-yard games. He also leads all Power Five conference players with 59 first down catches.
Wallace is averaging more catches and receiving yards per game than each of the past three Biletnikoff Award winners, and his average of 17.9 yards per catch is better than 11 of the past 14 Biletnikoff winners.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Wallace has been at his best on the biggest stages. In OSU's four games against ranked opponents this season (three of them wins), Wallace has totaled 609 receiving yards, 32 catches and six receiving touchdowns. His best performances include 222 yards and two receiving touchdowns on 10 catches vs. No. 6 Texas and 220 yards and two receiving touchdowns at No. 6 Oklahoma. Those two games mark just the third time in school history an OSU player has had two 200-yard games in a season, and the first time it's been done against two ranked teams.
On the season, Wallace ranks No. 3 in the FBS with 1,344 receiving yards. He has seven 100-yard receiving games on the year.
Comparing Wallace with the other two finalists, his seven 100-yard games this season are one more than Isabella and three more Jeudy. He has also played against three more ranked opponents than Isabella and one more than Jeudy. Against ranked teams this season, Wallace averages 19.03 yards per catch, while Isabella's and Jeudy's averages vs. ranked teams are 14.6 and 11.3 yards per catch, respectively.
Isabella has the national lead in receiving yards and receiving yards per game, but has played one more game than the other two finalists, and he has faced just two Power Five opponents this season.
Jeudy ranks 20th nationally at 91.1 yards per game. Against the three ranked teams Jeudy has faced this season, he averages 75.33 yards per game and has not scored a touchdown.
The 2018 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on Dec. 6, 2018, as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN. The winner will be presented the Biletnikoff Award trophy at the Biletnikoff Award Banquet at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Feb. 16, 2019.
