Smith and Cowboys Sign Seven

Oklahoma State wrestling signed seven class of 2019 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent this week. Brevin Balmeceda, Cade Lindsey, Daniel Manibog, Chance McLane, Colt Newton, Triston Wills and Reece Witcraft will join the Cowboys in the fall of 2018.

Balmeceda is Flo's No. 6 ranked high school wrestler in the country at 152 pounds and Intermat's No. 3. He boasts two Florida state titles to date, won the 2017 Super 32 and is a three-time NHSCA National Tournament champion. He notched a fourth-place finish at Super 32 this year. Balmeceda comes to Oklahoma from South Dade High School where he wrestles for his father.

The 2019 Cowboy class also includes Katy, Texas', Daniel Manibog who comes in at No. 9 in Flo's 145-pound rankings. He's a two-time Texas state champion and knocked off multiple top-ranked wrestlers at Fargo this summer to earn All-America status with a fourth-place finish.

Flo's No. 19 wrestler at 132, Reece Witcraft will also join the Cowboys in 2019. Witcraft is an Oklahoma state champion and Fargo national champion.

McLane comes to OSU from Bozeman Montana with two state titles under his belt and a second-place finish at the USA World Greco-Roman Team Trials at 65 kg. McLane competed alongside fellow Cowboy signee Balmeceda at Super 32 this fall.

Derby High School teammates Triston Wills and Cade Lindsey are set to join the Cowboys following their senior seasons. Lindsey is a three-time, top-three finisher in Kansas with a state title, and Wills took home top honors last season when he knocked off current Cowboy Jalin Harper in the 160-pound Kansas state finals.
Oklahoma native Colt Newton also signed this week. He is a three-time state finalist and dropped a finals bout to Witcraft in 2018 after defeating him in the regular season.
