STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State football team returns to the friendly confines of Boone Pickens Stadium for its annual homecoming game, and waiting on the opposing sideline is the Cowboys' longtime rival - No. 6/7 Texas. Media from across the country have been talking about the Saturday night clash and homecoming festivities throughout the week. Some of the highlights:
The Oklahoman's Scott Wright centered his focus on the return of OSU greats - Barry Sanders and the War Pigs - to Stillwater this week, as the group serve as the homecoming grand marshals.
Sander's 1988 Heisman season - still considered the greatest season by an individual player in college football history - is at the center of the Cowboys' homecoming theme this season, with the Pokes celebrating the 30th anniversary of Sander's incredible campaign. The Oklahoman also zoned in on reliving the historic efforts of Barry Sanders and Co., letting the members of that team recall their favorite stories from the 1988 campaign.
The Tulsa World's Mark Cooper spent the end of the week capsulizing all of the World's top stories of the week to preview this Saturday's meeting with the Longhorns.
