In the Rankings
The Cowboys are not ranked in the Associated Press Poll or the USA Today Coaches Poll this week, but they have been ranked in at least one poll in 29 of the last 32 weeks of rankings, dating back to week 10 of the 2016 season. OSU reached a 2018 season-high of No. 15 in both polls during week four this year, and has now been ranked in the top 15 of the A.P. poll at some point in 10 of the past 11 seasons. The Cowboys are one of only five teams to be ranked in every set of College Football Playoff rankings since the beginning of 2015, joining Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State. Texas is ranked No.6 in the A.P. poll and is No. 7 in the coaches' poll.
The Series
Saturday's game marks the 33rd meeting between Oklahoma State and Texas, with UT holding a 24-8 all-time advantage in the series. OSU, however, has won six of the past eight meetings and each of the past three. The three-game win streak marks the longest for the Cowboys in the history of the series. UT holds an 8-2 advantage in games played in Stillwater, with OSU winning its last home matchup, 49-31, in 2016. The Cowboys won last year's meeting in Austin in overtime, 13-10, and the 2015 meeting in Austin, 30-27. OSU's other home win against Texas came in 1997 with a 42-16 triumph. Coach Mike Gundy is 6-7 in his career against Texas, while UT coach Tom Herman is 0-1 against OSU.

Noting the Cowboys in Homecoming Games
Oklahoma State owns an all-time record of 53-36-7 in homecoming games. The Cowboys have won nine of their last 11 and 31 of their last 46 Homecoming games.
Barry Sanders Throwback - 30 Years Later
Barry Sanders and OSU's 1988 offensive line - known as the War Pigs - are back in town to serve as the grand marshals of America's Greatest Homecoming Celebration and to honor the 30th anniversary of Sanders' 1988 season - the greatest Heisman season ever. The Cowboys will wear throwback jerseys that match the ones worn by the Cowboys during the historic 1988 season. Sanders and his offensive line will also be prominently featured throughout the week of Homecoming 2018, serving as the main attraction of the Sea of Orange Parade on Saturday morning. Additionally, OSU's football uniforms Saturday feature a diamond-shaped patch in honor of the 30th anniversary of Sanders' Heisman season.
Oklahoma State From a Distance
Oklahoma State is 4-3 on the season and is coming off an open date last weekend. The Cowboys are ranked No. 12 nationally in total offense after seven games and have been led by junior running back Justice Hill, senior quarterback Taylor Cornelius and sophomore wide receiver Tylan Wallace. Hill ranks among the best running backs in college football. He leads all Power Five non-seniors with 3,293 career rushing yards and he averages 100 rushing yards per game during his career to rank No. 4 among all active players. Cornelius is a former walk-on who waited five years for his turn as OSU's starter. He's started every game for the Cowboys this season and set two OSU single-game records in the win at Kansas. He also ranks among the top 12 in FBS this season in passing yards per completion (15.03), points responsible for per game (17.1), total offense (314.9) and passing yards (2,014). Wallace is his top target, and leads the team with 718 receiving yards. His average of 102.6 yards per game is No. 8 in FBS and second in the Big 12 this season. The Cowboys have excelled in three areas defensively this season: sacks, tackles for loss and red zone defense. OSU leads the nation with 4.29 sacks per game and ranks ninth in FBS with 8.6 tackles for loss per game. When opponents have reached the red zone this season, they have only scored at a rate of 73.9 percent - enough for the defense to lead the Big 12. OSU also has yet to allow a point to an opponent on its opening drive of a game this season.
Big Screen TV
The 2018 season marks the debut of Boone Pickens Stadium's new Daktronics video board, which measures 110 feet wide by 56 feet tall and is suspended on the side of Gallagher-Iba Arena in the stadium's east end zone. The board is the eighth-largest at a college football-only stadium and can show better than 1080HD resolution. The board's brightness registers at 11,000 nits while most similar boards measure at 7,000 nits. The amplified brightness is to account for the fact that OSU's board faces west, and the brightness can be adjusted manually depending on the position of the sun. It was made possible through a gift from Gary and Claudia Humphreys.
