Brailford Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defensive end Jordan Brailford has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in OSU's 48-28 win at Kansas Saturday.
Brailford, who was also named a defensive MVP for the game by OSU's coaches, finished with career highs in tackles with eight, sacks with 3.0 and tackles for loss with 5.0. His 5.0 tackles for loss marked the most for any Big 12 player in a game this season and tied for the second most in OSU history. His 3.0 sacks tied for third all-time at OSU and is the most since Nathan Peterson had 3.0 at Baylor in 2007.
Brailford now shares the national lead with 7.0 sacks on the season and is third in FBS with 2.1 tackles for loss per game.
The honor marks OSU's third Big 12 Player of the Week award this season, as linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga earned Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance against Boise State and running back Chuba Hubbard took home Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week accolades for his performance against Missouri State in the season opener.
