Postgame Quotes: Oklahoma State vs Baylor
January 15, 2018 | Cowboy Basketball
OSU Head Coach Mike Boynton Jr.
Opening Statement..
"Congrats to Coach Drew and his team for playing really well especially in the second half. You could tell his team played with a since of hunger, urgency, backs against the wall. Our team, we have to get better, more consistently on the road and that starts with me. I have to be better for our team."
On the difference in the second half…
"I have to go back and watch the film. However, it started with Manu Lecomte. He got going and he hadn't been shooting the ball well but credit to him for being a competitor and I'm sure he has continued to work hard. He is a really good player and today he led his team to a victory."
On Manu Lecomte improving in the second half…
"I think he got a couple easy ones. Some that should have been contested more than they were. For a really good player like he is you don't need all of them to be uncontested you just need to see the ball go in the basket a few times. In my estimation, he saw that and then a good coach like Scott, he runs actions to get him more looks."
On being unable to answer…
"Certainly. I mean until that last basket you know I looked up and we have nine assists and against a team that plays primarily zone that means we are not in a good flow offensively. Then you have to force shots playing one-on-one. It's not going to be very good for us. So, I have to adjust that as a coach and then I've got to make my players execute better".
