Cowboys in the NFL: Preseason Wrap-Up
September 05, 2017 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – With the NFL regular season set to kickoff later this week, Oklahoma State has 12 former Cowboys competing with teams across the league.
Packers guard Lane Taylor is entering his second season as a starter on the Green Bay offensive line, but he is taking nothing for granted. On Monday, Taylor signed a three-year contract extension to stay with the Packers through the 2020 season.
Another former Cowboy making waves in the NFL this preseason has been Seahawks running back Chris Carson. The Lilburn, Georgia, native rushed for 102 yards on 24 attempts and scored two touchdowns for Seattle this preseason. On Sunday, he was named to the Seahawks' 53-man roster.
Sunday's roster announcements also saw OSU continue to field a large presence just south of Stillwater in Dallas, where former Cowboys Dan Bailey, Dez Bryant and Blake Jarwin will all strap on their shoulder pads this season. Bailey and Bryant have both been pro-bowl performers for the Cowboys, while Jarwin, a rookie, was signed to the team's practice squad on Sunday.
Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung is also adjusting to life in Los Angeles during his first season with the team.
Other notable former Cowboys on NFL rosters this week include: Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, Dolphins defensive tackle Vincent Taylor, Giants cornerback Michael Hunter, Chiefs cornerback Ashton Lampkin, Jaguars cornerback Tyler Patmon and Packers cornerback Lenzy Pipkins.
