Peter Uihlein Secures PGA Tour Card

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Oklahoma State All-American Peter Uihlein locked up a spot on the PGA Tour for next season with his one-stroke victory at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship on Sunday at The Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course.
Uihlein closed with a 65 to edge Ryan Armour by a shot. After posting rounds of 69, 69 and 67, the former Cowboy posted his 6-under fourth round to finish at 14-under 270.
He got his round going with back-to-back birdies at Nos. 3 and 4 before moving to 3-under with a birdie at the sixth. Uihlein's lone bogey of the day came at the eighth. He then put together a four-birdie stretch over five holes from Nos. 11-15 to get to 6-under for the day.
The victory, which was worth $180,000, moved the 2010 U.S. Amateur champion to the top of the Web.com Tour Finals money list with three events left. Additionally, Uihlein is just outside the top 10 in the European Tour's Race to Dubai.
His victory was the third by a Cowboy this year on the web.com Tour and was the second in three weeks. Talor Gooch won the News Sentinel Open on Aug. 20 to secure his Tour card for next season. Casey Wittenberg won the Chitimacha Louisiana Open in March.
