STILLWATER – Oklahoma State opens Big 12 play this weekend with a top-20 showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium against No. 16 TCU.
The Horned Frogs come into this week's affair with a 3-0 record, which includes an impressive road win over Arkansas and a 56-36 triumph against SMU this past Saturday.
TCU's offense is led by quarterback Kenny Hill, who has amassed some impressive numbers through the first quarter of the season. Hill has completed 63 of his 84 passes for 737 yards and eight touchdowns to only two interceptions.
Behind Hill is a trio of solid running backs that are averaging at least 5.6 yards per carry this season. The leader of that group, Darius Anderson, has carried the ball 42 times for 262 yards and three touchdowns in 2017. His 262 yards have already pushed him past his 229-yard total from his freshman season a year ago.
Oklahoma State holds a 15-10-2 record all-time against TCU, which includes an impressive 31-6 rout in Fort Worth last year. The Cowboys also have found success in Stillwater, going 8-3 against their rival when playing on their home turf.
TCU has been one of the nation's best teams away from home since 2009, however, as Gary Patterson's squad has compiled a 40-14 record in road and neutral-site contests. That is the nation's second-best record during that timespan.
Six of TCU's last 12 Big 12 road games have been decided by seven points or less, and the Horned Frogs have gone 5-1 in those games. That being said, TCU has dropped its last four games in Stillwater, including a 49-29 defeat in 2015.
Saturday's top-20 matchup at Boone Pickens Stadium is arguably the most notable college football game in the country this weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.
