Cowboys Rise to No. 8 Entering Week Three

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team moved up two spots in both national polls this week, as the Cowboys came in at No. 8 in the Amway Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25, both of which were released Sunday.
OSU is coming off an impressive 44-7 road victory over South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, this past Friday. Several Cowboys put in stand-out performances during the contest, but quarterback Mason Rudolph's proved to be the most notable, as his 335 passing yards pushed him past Brandon Weeden and into the top spot on the Oklahoma State career passing yards list. Rudolph's 9,352 career passing yards also rank as the second most among all active FBS quarterbacks.
The Cowboys' win over USA marked their 10th win in their last 12 true road games and was also Oklahoma State's 10th win in its last 11 games overall. OSU is also now 54-6 against unranked opponents dating back to 2010.
Aside from Oklahoma State, three other Big 12 schools are represented this week in the AP and Amway Coaches polls, with Oklahoma (No. 2/3) moving up three spots in both polls after a win over Ohio State in Columbus and Kansas State (No. 18/18) moving up one spot after handily defeating Charlotte, 55-7. TCU rounds out the quartet of Big 12 programs in this week's rankings at No. 23 and 20 in the AP and Coaches polls, respectively.
OSU will be on the road again this week as the Cowboys head to Pittsburgh for a showdown with Pitt. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ABC or ESPN2.
