Cowboys Ranked No. 11 in Preseason Amway Coaches Poll

STILLWATER – The preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released Thursday, with Oklahoma State debuting at No. 11 in the first rankings of 2017.
The Cowboys return several starters from last year's team that finished as Alamo Bowl champions. They also wrapped up last season at No. 11 in the final coaches poll.
It marked the culmination of another successful year in Stillwater, as the Cowboys have won 10 games in five of the last seven seasons and averaged 9.7 wins per year since 2010. Oklahoma State also ranks 11th nationally with 68 wins this decade.
As one of five Big 12 teams in the inaugural 2017 rankings, OSU joins No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 19 Kansas State, No. 20 West Virginia and No. 23 Texas.
The Cowboys open the season Thursday, Aug. 31, as they host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in Boone Pickens Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on FS1 and tickets are available at okstate.com/tickets.
