Zach Bauchou Claims Canadian Amateur Title

TORONTO – Oklahoma State's Zach Bauchou became the 22nd American to win the 113th Canadian Men's Amateur Championship this past week, closing with a 68 at Toronto Golf Club to earn the Earl Grey Cup.
A rising junior for the Cowboys, Bauchou finished with a 72-hole total of 272, 8-under, after posting rounds of 66, 70 and 68 in addition to his closing 2-under tally.
During his final round, Bauchou opened with eight consecutive pars before carding his lone bogey of the day at the ninth. The Forest, Va., native posted an inward nine of 3-under 33 to edge Shintaro Ban by a stroke.
With his victory, Bauchou earned an exemption into the 2017 U.S. Amateur Championship at the Rivieria Country Club in Palisades, Calif., from Aug. 14-20.
In addition to participating in the U.S. Amateur, Bauchou earned an exemption to the 2018 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont, and will also be exempt from 2018 U.S. Open Local Qualifying.
