Two Cowboys Earn All-America Scholar Status

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team had a pair of players honored for their work in the classroom on Wednesday with the announcement of the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Zachary Olsen, who received his degree this past spring from OSU in finance, was honored for the second consecutive year, while Sam Stevens, a rising senior, was named to the list for the first time.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
This past spring, Olsen, a native of Cordova, Tenn., was named the school's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year as well as a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick.
A native of Wichita, Kan., Stevens, who is also pursuing a degree in finance, was named a first-team academic all-conference selection as well.
Olsen is now the 12th Cowboy to receive the honor twice in his career, while Stevens is the 23rd different member of the program to be honored. Overall, OSU has had 35 selections.
