WATCH: Sinor Switches Positions to Further Heisman Credentials
July 26, 2017 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER - Oklahoma State punter Zach Sinor continues to make his case for the Heisman Trophy this week, as he attempted to join fellow candidate Mason Rudolph in the Cowboys' group of quarterbacks.
"Well, I've gotten plenty of attention from my campaign, but if I'm really going to win I need to try to get on the field more," Sinor said of his position change. "I'm trying to go for the Heisman Trophy and the only way I can do that is by being a quarterback."
Sinor's attempts at switching position sees him snag a green practice jersey from the team laundry. He continues his efforts by showing up to practice with the quarterbacks before Rudolph and the others leave him to go continue warming up.
After being left behind by his teammates, a morose Sinor begins to show off the talent that his arm posseses. He first delivers three perfect strikes into a net roughly 10 yards away. The 2016 Ray Guy Award semifinalst then caps off an impressive display by heaving a ball 40 yards into a net placed in the corner of the endzone.
"I gave it my best," Sinor said. "Hopefully it works out for Mason (Rudolph) since it looks like he'll be our No. 1 quarterback this year. Maybe next year when he's gone I'll have the opportunity to be a quarterback and win the Heisman Trophy once and for all."
