Cowgirl Soccer Newcomers Honored

STILLWATER – Four Oklahoma State freshmen have been honored for standout senior seasons at the high school level, and one of those is set to join an Under-20 National Team next month.
Hannah Warner, Kim Rodriguez, Taylor Olson and Hannah Webb were each honored by TeamSnap and TopDrawerSoccer.com earlier this week. Warner and Olson collected All-America and All-Region honors, while all four Cowgirls were named State Stars.
Additionally, Rodriguez has been called into the upcoming Mexico U-20 National Team camp and will participate in several international friendlies with the team next month in Tulsa.
Warner capped a standout prep career with a third consecutive selection as a TeamSnap First Team All-American. The goalkeeper recorded 15 shutouts in 18 matches as a senior at Owasso High School, capping a four-year span that saw her post 52 shutouts in 66 games.
A San Antonio native, Olson tallied 39 goals and nine assists as a senior at Ronald Reagan High School to earn TeamSnap Second Team Winter All-American status. A forward, Olson arrives in Stillwater with 68 goals and 18 assists on her high school résumé.
Rodriguez and Webb, both midfielders, joined Olson on the TeamSnap Winter Texas State Stars Team. Rodriguez netted 119 goals and notched 128 assists during her career at Porter High School, including 28 goals and 32 assists as a senior. Webb starred at Mansfield High School and was the District 4-6A MVP as a senior after scoring 25 goals and 21 assists; she finished her prep career with 70 goals and 49 assists.
The TeamSnap All-America, All-Region and State Star teams are compiled by TopDrawerSoccer following consultation with coaches and media members from around the country.
OSU is set to begin preseason practice Aug. 2. The Cowgirls will open the 2017 season with an exhibition match at Missouri on Aug. 12 before their season opener on Aug. 18.
