Cowboy Football Virtual Reality Project Up for Heartland Emmy Award

STILLWATER – A virtual reality project produced by the Oklahoma State football program has been nominated for a 2017 Heartland Regional Emmy Award.
The project, entitled "Oklahoma State VR Experience," was the collaborative work of MANDT VR and the Oklahoma State football program and is one of a few contenders for the award for Technical Achievement.
Originally started in 2015, the virtual reality video project was launched in 2016 with a series of interactive pieces that feature different aspects of the Oklahoma State campus and football program.
The project will be up for the Emmy Saturday night at the Emmy Awards Gala in Oklahoma City. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with award presentations happening an hour and a half later.
Neil Mandt and Gordon Whitener served as Executive Producers for the project for MANDT VR, while several from Oklahoma State University contributed to its success, including but not limited to: Chris Deal (Project Coordinator), Ben Dyson (Compliance), Johnny Barr (Recruiting), Julia Benbrook (Host), Taylor Montgomery (Host), Tanner Norton (Film Assistant), Marilyn Middlebrook, Lance Millis and Megan Horton.
