Cowgirl Soccer Adds Trio
June 21, 2017 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added three student-athletes to its 2017 soccer roster, it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Colin Carmichael.
Joining Carmichael's squad is a pair of midfielders in Lauren Anderson, who hails from San Antonio, and Kildeer, Ill. native Madeline Blasko. Defender Elise Davis of Trophy Club, Texas, rounds out the group of additions. Both Anderson and Davis are 2017 high school graduates, while Blasko attended Oklahoma State in 2016-17 and joined the Cowgirl program in January.
Lauren Anderson, MF, San Antonio, Texas (Ronald Reagan HS/Classics Elite SC) — Anderson tallied six goals and nine assists as a senior at Ronald Reagan High School, where she was teammates with fellow OSU freshman Taylor Olson. As a junior, Anderson recorded three goals and a pair of assists. At the club level, she was among Classics Elite SC's leading scorers, and she topped the team in assists each of the last four years.
Carmichael on Anderson: "Lauren is a very fast athlete who has the physical tools to compete at the D1 level. Many of Lauren's family members have attended OSU so it should be a great fit for her as a student-athlete."
Madeline Blasko, MF, Kildeer, Ill. (Lake Zurich HS/FCX Barrington) — Blasko picked up Chicagoland All-State honors as a senior at Lake Zurich High School in 2016 after collecting eight goals and two assists. That came on the heels of a junior season that saw Blasko record 10 goals and 11 assists and earn all-sectional accolades. A three-time all-conference performer, she led the team to a pair of regional championships.
After joining the OSU program in January, Blasko competed in the Cowgirls' spring exhibition season and scored a pair of goals. She will be a redshirt freshman in 2017.
Carmichael on Blasko: "It was great to see Madeline on the squad this spring. She is a tireless worker in the midfield who is good in possession and chipped in with a few goals this spring. I am very excited to see how she progresses this fall."
Elise Davis, D, Trophy Club, Texas (Byron Nelson HS/FC Dallas ECNL) — Davis was a member of the FC Dallas ECNL squad under coach Matt Grubb and was a three-time all-district performer at Byron Nelson High School. She was also recruited by North Texas, Little Rock and Texas Tech.
Carmichael on Davis: "Elise is a tenacious and athletic player. She is able to move around the field very well due to her mobility and speed, and we are excited to see her out on the field in August."
