Vincent Taylor Drafted By Miami Dolphins

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State standout defensive tackle Vincent Taylor became the 20th draft pick of the Mike Gundy era Saturday, as the Miami Dolphins selected him with the 194th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The selection marks the ninth-consecutive year a Cowboy has been picked in the NFL Draft and the 118th draft selection in OSU history.
Taylor wrapped up his Cowboy career as perhaps the most productive interior defensive lineman at Oklahoma State during the Mike Gundy era, amassing 12 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss during his career, despite declaring for the NFL Draft after his junior season.
With a school-record matching five career blocked kicks, Taylor also made a big difference for the Cowboys on special teams.
As a junior in 2016, Taylor earned first-team All-Big 12 honors from both the Associated Press and the coaches. He was also voted as a team captain by his teammates and as the recipient of the Bob Fenimore Award presented by the coaches to the team's defensive MVP.
He was also the FBS leader with four blocked kicks last season, and his 7.0 sacks were the most among interior linemen in the Big 12. Additionally, Taylor's 51 tackles, 7.0 sacks, 57 yards from sacks and 13.0 TFL last season are the most for an OSU interior D-Lineman during the Mike Gundy era.
Other accolades from last season include being named the Defensive MVP of the Alamo Bowl and being named a Piesman Trophy finalist, which is presented to the lineman who makes the best play with the ball.
Taylor first earned a role as an every day starter during his sophomore season when he totaled 48 tackles and 5.0 sacks, which were the highest totals for any interior defensive lineman during the Mike Gundy era until he broke those marks last season.
