Four Cowboy Wrestlers Earn NWCA All-Academic Status

STILLWATER – Four members of the Oklahoma State wrestling team have been named to the 2017 National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. OSU was one of 10 teams to place four or more wrestlers on the list.
Anthony Collica, Dean Heil, Kaid Brock and Nolan Boyd were each recognized for their work in the classroom with spots on the list.
Collica, a 149-pound senior, earned his fourth consecutive honor, while Heil garnered his third to follow up his second career NCAA Championship at 141 pounds.
Coming off his second career All-America honor after finishing sixth at the NCAA Championships, Boyd was named to the list for the second-straight season. Brock, an All-American for the first time in his career, earns his first NWCA All-Academic team nod.
Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic team is comprised of 135 student-athletes. Four Division I champions made the team, while six additional runners-up were included. In all, 35 All-Americans were All-Academic selections.
