Cowgirls Win A Pair In Edmond
March 27, 2017 | Cowgirl Soccer
EDMOND — Oklahoma State remained undefeated on the spring exhibition season as the Cowgirls picked up a pair of wins last Saturday, knocking off host Central Oklahoma, 3-0, before a 1-0 victory over Midwestern State.
With the two victories, the Cowgirls improved to 4-0-1 on the spring. OSU has recorded shutouts in each of its five matches and outscored its opponents by an 8-0 margin.
In the win over UCO, Madeline Blasko netted a pair of goals. Her score in the 26th minute off a Holly Brehmer assist gave OSU a 1-0 lead at intermission, and the Cowgirls doubled that lead six minutes into the second half when Laurene Tresfield headed the ball into the net off an Anna Beffer corner kick. Four minutes later, Blasko capped the scoring with a goal assisted by Marlo Zoller.
Sharing the shutout in goal against the Bronchos were Michela Ongaro, who played the opening half, and Tanya de Souza.
In game two, Jaci Jones' second-half goal lifted OSU to the win as she scored off an assist from Julia Lenhardt. Once again, de Souza and Ongaro split the game in goal for the shutout, with de Souza playing the opening half.
OSU has two matches remaining on its spring schedule — April 1 at Little Rock and April 9 at SMU.Â
