PALM CITY, Fla. – Behind the low round of the day, Oklahoma State's men's golf team rose seven spots on the leaderboard at the Valspar Collegiate on Monday, using a 280 to move into a tie for third place at The Floridian Golf Club.

The Cowboys' 4-under score matched Wake Forest for the low round of the day and gave OSU a 14-over total of 582, tying them with Georgia Tech for third place. The Demon Deacons used their 4-under score to grab a nine-shot lead over the field with a 571 tally. Houston sits in second place at the par-71, 7,114-yard layout with a 580 total.

North Texas' Thomas Rosenmueller and Wake Forest's Eric Bae shared the top spot on the individual leaderboard, turning in scores of 71 and 67, respectively, for 140 totals.

OSU's Kristoffer Ventura followed an opening 70 with a 71 to finish the day a shot back and tied for third place with Scott Stevens of South Carolina. The Cowboy junior stood at 3-over par on his round after 12 holes before rallying with birdies on three of his final four holes to card his even-par score.

Senior Zachary Olsen vaulted 19 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for eighth place at 143 after firing a 68 during his second round. Olsen carded four birdies on his opening nine to turn at 4-under 32 before posting a 1-over 36 on his second nine.

Sophomore Hayden Wood moved 24 spots into a tie for 26th place after rebounding from an opening 78 with a 69 to stand at 147.

Sophomore Zach Bauchou and freshman Viktor Hovland each carded 72s on Monday to finish in a tie for 49th place at 151.
