Ventura, Hovland Named To Arnold Palmer Cup Squad

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two members of Oklahoma State's men's golf team, Viktor Hovland and Kristoffer Ventura, were named to Team Europe for the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup it was announced today during the opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 9-11 at Atlanta Athletic Club.
Ventura, a junior from Rygge, Norway, was one of six selections made for the European side using the Arnold Palmer Cup Player Ranking. Hovland, a freshman from Oslo, Norway, was one of two players named to the squad via committee selection.
The duo will join the likes of Bo Van Pelt, Charles Howell, Hunter Mahan, Alex Norén, Rickie Fowler and Morgan Hoffmann among others on the list of Cowboys to take part in the event.
Ventura has played in six events for OSU this season, logging three top 10s on the year. He has two runner-up showings to his credit, finishing second at the Paintbrush Invitational and the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. Ventura is currently ranked 23rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
During his rookie campaign in Stillwater, Hovland has finished inside the top 20 in three of his six starts with his best finish coming at the Paintbrush Invitational where he tied for 12th place. He is currently ranked No. 87 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
