Cowboys Move Into Sixth At Amer Ari

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team used a 10-under 278 during its second round on Friday to move into sixth place at the Amer Ari invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course.
Through two rounds, the Cowboys stand at 12-under 564 and three shots behind Oregon for fifth place at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout. Southern California fired a 20-under 268 to move into the top position in the team standings, finishing a stroke clear of Texas Tech.
USC's Rico Hoey used a 63 during his second round to finish the day at 14-under 130 and with a three-shot cushion heading into tomorrow's final round.
Cowboy freshman Viktor Hovland vaulted up the leaderboard, climbing 24 spots into a tie for 19th place with a 5-under 67 to stand at 139.
Junior Sam Stevens bounced back from an opening 75 with a 67 of his own to move into a tie for 36th place at 142, while sophomore Zach Bauchou also got in with a 142 tally after signing for a 72.
Junior Kristoffer Ventura and sophomore Hayden Wood each signed for 72s and finished the day at 144 and tied for 51st place.
Zachary Olsen led a quartet of Cowboys competing in the event individually. The senior posted a 67 to move into a tie for 26th place at 140.
Junior Stratton Nolen's 70 tied him for 68th place at 146, while classmate Brendon Jelley's 70 knotted him for 79th place at 148.
Redshirt freshman Tyson Reeder posted a 76 to stand at 151 and tied for 100th.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be grouped with Oregon, TCU and Arizona State. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
