Cowgirls Shut Out Horned Frogs in Hunt Seat As OSU Defeats TCU, 16-4

STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The third-ranked Oklahoma State Equestrian team defeated 10th-ranked TCU, 16-4, on Friday at Totusek Arena.
OSU's Hunt Seat squad shut out the Horned Frogs in both Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences. Senior Maggie Drysch scored a career-high 91 on Equitation on the Flat; the score was the highest of any event today. Drysch also had the highest score of the day in Equitation over Fences, defeating TCU's Molly Peddicord, 83-78. Both scores earned Drysch a Most Outstanding Performer honor in each event.
"Maggie's been working really hard in practice," said OSU Hunt Seat coach Sammy Elser. "She went in and executed with confidence. I couldn't be more proud of her."
The Cowgirls were also victorious in the Reining arena, defeating the Horned Frogs, 4-1. Hannah Mitchell won her seventh consecutive matchup and third consecutive MOP honor, defeating TCU's Brooke Boyle, 74-60.5. Ebba Lange, Alexa Beaty and Danielle Cohen also won their respective matchups in Reining.
OSU's Kirsten Chamberland and Libby Collins took their points in Horsemanship, posting scores of 74 and 75.5, respectively. Chamberland's victory marks her third consecutive win as she is undefeated in the spring season.
"The girls stepped up," said OSU head coach Larry Sanchez. "We challenged them as coaches to take it to the next level, and they did that today."
With the win, the Cowgirls move to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in Big 12 Conference play. Next up, OSU travels to New Mexico State to take on the Aggies on March 4 at 10 a.m.
