Cowboys Set To Begin Spring Slate In Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will get its spring schedule underway this week when it takes part in the 26th annual Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Beach Resort's Kings' Course.
The Cowboys will carry a No. 5 ranking into the spring after posting a pair of victories and a runner-up showing in four starts last fall. All five members of OSU's starting lineup this week are ranked 61 or higher as well. Junior Sam Stevens (No. 25) will be joined by sophomore Zach Bauchou (No. 40), freshman Viktor Hovland (No. 47), sophomore Hayden Wood (No. 57) and junior Kristoffer Ventura (No. 61) in the lineup.
Senior Zachary Olsen, juniors Brendon Jelley and Stratton Nolen as well as redshirt freshman Tyson Reeder will all compete as individuals.
The tournament is comprised of 21 teams and will consist of 54 holes at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout. The event will be contested Thursday through Saturday with 18 holes being played each day. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
The Cowboys have won the event on six occasions with the most recent victory coming in 2014. OSU has also produced the individual champion on five occasions with Jordan Niebrugge being the most recent Cowboy to accomplish the feat, finishing first in 2014.
