What the Media Are Saying After OSU vs. Kansas State
November 19, 2017 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State football team suffered its third loss of the season Saturday, dropping a key Big 12 matchup against Kansas State, 45-50, at Boone Pickens Stadium.
After the loss, state and local media covered the Cowboys from all angles in an attempt to dissect what happened Saturday afternoon in Stillwater.
The Oklahoman's John Helsley reviewed what he deemed the most important moments of the contest, citing K-State wide receiver Byron Pringle's three long touchdown receptions, his kickoff return for a touchdown, and poorly-timed interceptions by the Cowboy offense.
On the other side of the state, the Tulsa World's Mark Cooper recapped the Cowboys' furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt, which ultimately fell short. Cooper wrote that despite the 29-point hole, OSU still found itself in a confident position late with a chance to drive and take the lead or win.
That final possession for OSU is what Cooper's colleague, Kendrick Marshall, honed in on, writing that the Cowboys' preseason expectations and hopes ultimately rested on that final drive, but the offense was unable to muster the season-defining moment needed to complete the 29-point comeback.
Oklahoma State will wrap up its regular season next weekend, as the Cowboys welcome another Sunflower State opponent to Stillwater when they face Kansas on Saturday. Kickoff at Boone Pickens Stadium is set for 11 a.m. CT on Fox Sports 1.
