What the Media Are Saying: OSU vs. Iowa State
November 11, 2017 | Cowboy Football
AMES, Iowa - The Oklahoma State football team continues to run the gauntlet of the Big 12 this week, as the Cowboys head to Ames for a top-25 showdown against Iowa State today at 11 a.m. CT.
After a tough loss to No. 5 Oklahoma in the annual Bedlam Series game last week, state and local media has covered the Cowboys from all angles this week.
The Oklahoman's Scott Wright published his "3-2-1 Kickoff" countdown Friday, in which he named his three players to watch (Justice Hill, Calvin Bundage and Rodarius Williams), while also posing two questions heading into the game and making one "wild" prediction.
Along with Wright's countdown, The Oklahoman's John Helsley discussed quarterback Mason Rudolph's second notable cover shoot of the 2017 season.
Rudolph, who was featured on Sports Illustrated prior to the season, will be on the cover of the November issue of FCA Magazine. Helsley noted that Rudolph, who has long been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, jumped at the opportunity to be on the cover.
"I know my family will think that's cooler than the Sports Illustrated thing," Rudolph said.
On the other side of the state, the Tulsa World's Mark Cooper discussed how OSU will try to dictate the tempo this week against Iowa State. The Cyclones typically run about 10 plays less than Cowboys per game offensively, as they place more of an emphasis on ball control and time of possession. With that being said, Cooper notes that whichever team is able to dictate the pace, may have the upper hand Saturday.
Another week of exciting Big 12 action is almost ready to go, and kickoff is set for 11 a.m. at Jack Trice Stadium on either ABC or ESPN2 (check your local listings).
