Cowgirl Soccer: Rewind & A Look Ahead

Oklahoma State split a pair of games last weekend but moved into a tie for first place in the Big 12 Conference standings. On Friday, OSU fell to conference co-leader West Virginia in Morgantown but returned to the win column Sunday with a victory over Iowa State in Ames. This week, the Cowgirls are back on the road as they travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech Friday night.

Weekend Highlights

OSU is 11-2-2 on the season and 4-1-0 in Big 12 Conference play, which puts the Cowgirls in a tie with West Virginia atop the Big 12 standings.
The 11 wins are the most by a Cowgirl team since 2012 — that team finished 11-6-3. The four conference wins also mark OSU's highest total since 2014 when it recorded five.
Michela Ongaro posted a career-high 12 saves in Friday's 1-0 loss to No. 8 West Virginia.
OSU recorded a 2-1 win in overtime at Iowa State. The Cowgirls are 2-0-0 in overtime games in conference play this season after posting ties in its previous overtime games during the non-conference portion of their schedule.
Freshmen accounted for both goals in the win at Iowa State. Kim Rodriguez scored her second of the season to give OSU an early first-half lead before Taylor Olson recorded the golden goal in the 97^th minute to secure the win.
Olson's goal was her sixth of the season, tying her for the team lead and also ranking second in the Big 12. The six goals are also the most by an OSU freshman since Courtney Dike had 13 in 2013.

OSU has outscored its opponents 35-11 on the season, and 12 different Cowgirls have recorded goals. Eleven of those players have multiple goals, led by Haley Woodard and Taylor Olson's six each.

Haley Woodard ranks second in the Big 12 with six goals and 15 points.
Woodard has six goals in 11 games this season, with her 0.55 goals per game leading the Big 12.
A junior forward, Woodard's three goals and seven points in Big 12 play top the conference.
Woodard's six goals equal her career-high total from last season.
In conference-only games, Michela Ongaro leads the Big 12 in with a .906 save percentage.
Ongaro has recorded 52 saves on the season, with 29 of those coming in OSU's five conference games.

OSU's lone game of the weekend sees it matched against Texas Tech in Lubbock. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start and will be televised by FSN.
