MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Oklahoma State had its three-game winning streak snapped Friday night as No. 8 West Virginia handed the 19^th-ranked Cowgirls a 1-0 loss at Dick Dlesk Stadium.

OSU was shut out for only the second time this season as the Cowgirls fell to 10-2-2 overall and 3-1-0 in Big 12 Conference play.

The Mountaineers are now unbeaten in their last 35 conference matches in Morgantown as WVU improved to 10-3-0 on the season and 3-1-0 in league play.

Michela Ongaro racked up a career-high 12 saves in the match, topping her previous best of nine last season against Memphis. Seven of the senior's stops came in the second half.

WVU recorded the only goal in the match in the 29^th minute when Amandine Pierre-Louis weaved through the Cowgirl defense and fired a shot to the far post from 15-yards out.

The Cowgirls were inches away from an equalizer in the 35^th minute. Kim Rodriguez crushed a shot from 30-yards out that hit the crossbar and bounced straight down but not over the line before WVU goalie Rylee Foster grabbed the ball for a save.

Trailing 1-0, OSU could not find the net in the final half as the Mountaineers controlled the attack and limited the Cowgirls to only three shots. The best of those chances came in the 48^th minute when Haley Woodard got behind the defense to create an opportunity before her shot went right to Foster for an easy save.

OSU finished with seven shots in the match and managed just two corner kicks to WVU's 10.

The Cowgirls return to action Sunday at Iowa State in a match scheduled for a noon kickoff.
