Cowboy Football Returns to Top 10
October 29, 2017 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team continued to trend toward the top of both national polls this week, coming in at No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 10 in the Amway Coaches Poll, both of which were released Sunday.
It is the fourth week so far this season that OSU (7-1; 4-1 Big 12) has held a top-10 spot in at least one of the national polls. The Cowboys have also now been ranked inside the top 15 of at least one of the national polls for 16 straight weeks dating back to Nov. 13, 2017.
Oklahoma State is coming off an impressive 50-39 road win over No. 22 West Virginia in Morgantown. The win, coupled with the rest of the Big 12's results, pushed the Cowboys into a four-way tie atop the Big 12 standings.
It also improved OSU to 5-0 in true road games this season.
OSU is one of four Big 12 programs to appear in the polls this week, as the Cowboys are joined by Oklahoma (No. 8/9), TCU (No. 10/12) and Iowa State (No. 14/16). The four ranked Big 12 teams are all currently 4-1 in conference play, and are tied for first place in the league standings.
This weekend, the Cowboys will continue their pursuit of a Big 12 title when they welcome their Bedlam rival, No. 8/9 Oklahoma, to Stillwater on Saturday. Kickoff at Boone Pickens Stadium is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
ESPN's College Gameday program will also originate from Stillwater this weekend, marking the sixth time that OSU has hosted the wildly popular national pre-game show. Saturday marks the fourth time in the last six Bedlam Series games to be played in Stillwater that College Gameday has been on hand.
