Cowgirl Soccer: Rewind & A Look Ahead

Oklahoma State remained perfect in Big 12 Conference play last week with a Friday night win at TCU and a Sunday victory over Baylor in Stillwater. This week, the Cowgirls travel to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on top-10 ranked West Virginia Friday night before a Sunday showdown against Iowa State in Ames.

Weekend Highlights

OSU improved to 10-1-2 overall and 3-0-0 in Big 12 play.
The 10 wins are the most by a Cowgirl team since 2014 — that team finished 10-10-1 — and OSU is 3-0-0 in the league for the first time since 2011.
Michela Ongaro posted a pair of shutouts and recorded 11 saves in the victories, including a seven-save effort against Baylor that was two shy of her career high.
Haley Woodard factored in two of OSU's three goals on the weekend as she recorded an assist at TCU and scored the match's lone goal in the win over Baylor.
In the 2-0 win over TCU, the Cowgirls got goals from Jaci Jones and Coumba Sow. Both goals came in the second half and are the only scores the Horned Frogs have allowed after halftime this season.
OSU topped Baylor on Sunday when Woodard headed in a Charmé Morgan cross into the box for a golden goal in the 99^th minute to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 win.

OSU has outscored its opponents 33-9 on the season, and 12 different Cowgirls have recorded goals. Ten of those players have multiple goals, led by Haley Woodard's six.

Woodard has six goals in nine games this season, with her 0.67 goals per game leading the Big 12.
A junior forward, Woodard's three goals and seven points in Big 12 play top the conference.
Woodard's six goals equal her career-high total from last season.
In conference-only games, Michela Ongaro leads the Big 12 in goals against average (0.32) and save percentage (.923).

OSU opens its weekend road trip Friday against West Virginia in a match scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. CST. The Cowgirls then travel to Ames, Iowa, for a Sunday match against Iowa State slated for a noon start.
West Virginia is 8-3-0 on the season and the five-time defending Big 12 champions are 2-1-0 in league play.
The Mountaineers are led by All-American forward Michaela Abam while fellow forward Sh'Nia Gordon ranks second in the Big 12 with five assists. WVU goalie Rylee Foster also ranks second in the league with seven shutouts.
OSU is 0-7-0 all time against West Virginia. Six of the losses were by one goal prior to last season's 3-0 loss in Morgantown.
Iowa State is 2-10-1 and 0-3-0 entering a Friday night game against Oklahoma in Ames when the Cyclones will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak. Both of ISU's wins this season came on its home field.
OSU owns a 10-9-2 record in the all-time series with Iowa State, but the Cowgirls are just 3-7-1 against the Cyclones in Ames.
