STILLWATER – The 2017 Oklahoma State football team has officially reached the halfway point of the regular season, and quarterback Mason Rudolph's numbers are only getting more impressive.
The senior out of Rock Hill, S.C., was selected to the Midseason AP All-America team earlier this week, and ranks No. 1 in FBS in passing yards per game (394.7), passing yards per completion (17.41) and points responsible for per game (25.0).
In total, Rudolph ranks among the top three individuals nationally in nine different NCAA statistics. He also leads the nation in completions of at least 30, 40 and 60 yards.
Additionally, he is ranked No. 1 nationally in ESPN's raw QBR metric at 92.2 and is among the NCAA's active career leaders in every important passing statistic.
If the Oklahoma State football record book is any indication, then Rudolph has a legitimate argument as the best quarterback in school history.
Halfway through his senior year, Rudolph owns no fewer than 29 school records, and is in position to set even more in the next couple games. One more win will tie him with Mike Gundy for the most career wins as a starting quarterback at 28.
He entered 2017 with at least 14 of the top marks in Cowboy history, and he is closing in on school records for career pass completions, career touchdowns responsible for, career passing touchdowns and others.
