Cowboy Baseball Hosts Northeastern State
October 19, 2017 | Cowboy Baseball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will host a game against Northeastern State Friday at 1 p.m. at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as the Cowboys continue preparations for the 2018 season.
Â
Admission to the game is free, and free concession snacks will also be available.
Â
OSU is coming off a 2017 season in which it made its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Josh Holliday. The Cowboys finished with a 30-27 record and claimed a Big 12 Conference championship when they won the league's postseason tournament, a title that marked the program's 32nd conference crown.
Â
The Cowboys added 20 newcomers to their roster in the offseason after losing six position players, including their top two hitters and five players who started at least 23 games a year ago. OSU must also replace nine pitchers who combined for 235 2/3 innings, 14 wins and eight saves in 2017.
Â
Northeastern State is coming off a season in which the RiverHawks went 22-25. The Cowboys and NSU have squared off on the diamond four times previously, the last coming during the 2012 season with OSU claiming a 6-4 win in Stillwater.
