11 Reasons Why OSU's Win Over Texas Tech Mattered

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team improved to 4-1 with a 41-34 win at Texas Tech Saturday night. Quarterback Mason Rudolph broke a school record with his 17th career 300-yard passing game and running back Justice Hill produced career highs with 164 rushing yards and 30 carries. Following the win, Oklahoma State…
• Has won at least four of its first five games eight times during the Mike Gundy era.
• Is now 21-21-3 all-time vs. Texas Tech.
• Has beaten Texas Tech nine straight times, matching its longest active winning streak over any opponent. OSU has also won nine straight over Louisiana.
• Has beaten Texas Tech five straight times in Lubbock, marking the longest road streak for either team in the series.

-Added 11 carries for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
-Responsible for five touchdowns, including three passing and two rushing.
-Scored OSU's game-winning touchdown with 1:12 remaining on a 16-yard rush to break a 34-34 tie.
-On OSU's final, game-winning drive, he guided the Cowboys on a six-play, 79-yard touchdown drive while going 3-for-3 passing for 44 yards and rushing twice for 18 yards and a touchdown.
-Completed passes to eight different receivers and touchdown passes to three different receivers.
-Helped two receivers cross the 100-yard mark for the third straight game.
-Set an OSU record with his 17th career game with at least 300 passing yards, breaking Brandon Weeden's previous mark of 16.
-Extended his OSU record with his sixth-straight 300-yard passing game, including every game in 2017.
-Became OSU's all-time leader in career pass attempts, passing Brandon Weeden for the top spot.
-Entered the game leading the nation in 30-plus yard completions this year and added three more.

-Led the way for the Cowboy defense with three pass breakups.
-Knocked down Texas Tech's final two pass attempts of the game on third and fourth down with less than a minute remaining to seal a one-touchdown win for OSU.

-Blocked a Texas Tech punt in the third quarter to give OSU the ball inside the TTU 10-yard line.
-That marked OSU's first blocked punt since Miketavius Jones blocked a punt against Kansas in 2015.
-It was OSU's first blocked kick of the season and its first of any kind since Vincent Taylor blocked a PAT attempt at TCU last season.
