Cowboys in the NFL, Week One
September 13, 2016 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Several former Cowboys saw action in week one of the 2016 NFL season.
As we've come to expect, kicker Dan Bailey did what Dan Bailey does best on Sunday, lining up and knocking down four field goals for the Dallas Cowboys in a close 20-19 loss to the division-rival Giants. With a 56-yarder and 54-yarder, two of Bailey's kicks came from beyond the 50 yard line.
Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant played in the game as well, reeling in one catch for eight yards.
Offensive lineman Russell Okung and his Denver Broncos opened up the 2016 season last Thursday with a 21-20 win over the Carolina Panthers that came down to the final seconds. Okung joined the Broncos this offseason after spending six seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, and impressed in his Denver debut.
Another former member of the OSU offensive line had a strong season opener in Green Bay, as Lane Taylor helped the Packers to a 27-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in his NFL debut at left guard.
Former Cowboy defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah made his pro football debut as well on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Although it was in a Browns loss, Ogbah finished with a tackle and a swatted pass.
Perrish Cox and Justin Gilbert made debuts for their respective teams. Cox recorded three tackles in a Tennessee Titans loss to the Vikings, while Gilbert made an appearance in last night's Steeler win over Washington.

Dan Bailey has scored more fantasy points than all but 4 WRs this week. And he's still playing.
