Memorable Moments - 2013 vs. Baylor
July 06, 2016 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – When Oklahoma State beat Baylor, 49-17, in 2013, it wasn't an average victory, rather a complete dismantling of the No. 3 team in the nation. Through three quarters, OSU head a 35-3 lead and it wasn't until the game was long decided that the Bears were able to muster points against the Cowboy defense.
For that reason, we chose it as a memorable moment in Cowboy football history – a video series we'll be sharing with you this July.
What made the 2013 win over Baylor remarkable is the fact that the Bears entered the game averaging a national-best 61.2 points and 684.8 yards per game.
However, with the big stage set, complete with ESPN College GameDay on hand and the game played in front of an ABC prime time audience, Oklahoma State forced three Baylor fumbles and also stopped the Bears on two key fourth-down attempts in the second half -- both which led to Cowboys' touchdowns.
OSU quarterback Clint Chelf connected on each of his first 12 passes in the game and finished by completing 19 of 25 passes for 370 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
