Weekend Review: Two Future Cowboys Earn All-America Honors in Fargo

STILLWATER – Incoming Oklahoma State wrestlers Keegan Moore, Wyatt Sheets and Ethan Andersen competed at the 2016 Junior Freestyle National Championships last weekend at the Fargo Dome in Fargo, N.D. Moore and Sheets earned All-American recognition in their respective weight classes, while Andersen fell a win short, advancing to the round of 16 in his bracket.
Moore provided the highlight of the weekend, advancing to the 220-pound championship match before coming up short to defending champion Sam Shields-Colbray. Competing for Minnesota, Moore blazed through his side of the bracket, recording three wins by technical fall, along with a pair of falls to move into the title match. The Jackson County High School graduate helped Minnesota (52) finish second behind Pennsylvania (58) in the team race.
Stilwell, Okla., native Wyatt Sheets finished fifth in the 152-pound bracket to earn All-American status. Sheets advanced as far as the semifinals where he was upended by eventual runner-up Zander Wick by way of an 11-4 decision. Sheets would bounce back, however, dropping California's David San Miguel in a 10-1 decision in the fifth-place match.
Andersen won a pair of matches in the 285-pound championship bracket, including a fall over Chase Miller in 4:50 to advance to the round of 16. Andersen and Team Iowa finished fifth in the team race with 34 points.
