Cowboys Third in Big 12 Football Media Preseason Poll

STILLWATER – After a 10-win season and a Sugar Bowl appearance a year ago, the Oklahoma State football team was picked to finish third in the league in the 2016 Big 12 Media Preseason Football Poll, the conference announced Thursday.
The Cowboys received 202 points to come in at third, behind only Oklahoma (258) and TCU (222), in a poll that was decided by media representatives who cover the league.
In last year's preseason Big 12 poll, the Cowboys were picked to finish fourth, but played for the conference championship on the last day of their regular season and finished in second place. It marked OSU's fourth 10-win campaign in the last six seasons and gave the Cowboys their first Sugar Bowl appearance since 1946.
OSU will make its Big 12 Media Days appearance on Monday, July 18, in Dallas, Texas. Head coach Mike Gundy will be joined by quarterback Mason Rudolph, wide receiver James Washington, safety Jordan Sterns and linebacker Chad Whitener to meet with media and discuss the upcoming season. The event will be televised live from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on FS2 and additional FOX Sports affiliates.
Oklahoma State opens the 2016 season on Sept. 3, when the Cowboys face Southeastern Louisiana at 2:30 p.m. in Boone Pickens Stadium.
