May 26, 2016 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Greenwood, Ind. – Cowgirl senior Ingeborg Loevnes has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America All-District Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Team for district seven, the organization announced Thursday.
Loevnes was a consistent top-finisher for the Cowgirls during the cross country season, as she helped OSU to its first Big 12 title and a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships where she earned All-America honors.
During this outdoor season, Loevnes won the Big 12's 3,000-meter steeplechase title and took all-conference honors in the 1,500-meter run, which was less than an hour after she won gold in the steeplechase.
Loevnes is a Norwegian international who earned an all-academic Big 12 nod this season, as well. She is majoring in University Studies – Pre-Med, and is a medical student in her home country of Norway.
Those who make it onto a CoSIDA academic all-district team become shortlisted for first-, second-and third-team All-America spots, which will be voted on and determined later.
Loevnes competes Friday in the national semifinal of the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Lawrence, Kansas, at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
