Jeff Naple Named Big 12 Video Coordinator of the Year

STILLWATER – Jeff "Pitt" Naple, the former video coordinator for the Oklahoma State football team, has been named the 2015-16 Big 12 Conference Video Coordinator of the year, The Collegiate Sports Video Association announced Monday.
Naple was selected by a majority vote of his peers in the Big 12 to receive the honor, and he is now a finalist for the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 12 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Bob Matey Award is presented to the video coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary video coordinator from Texas A&M.
Naple worked for Oklahoma State for more than 25 years, being recognized twice before as Big 12 Conference Video Coordinator of the Year. He also worked for the University of Pittsburgh, Webb Technology and the Dallas Cowboys.
At OSU, Naple oversaw all video needs for the Cowboy football program. He and his staff were responsible for the shooting and editing of all practices and games as well as opponent breakdowns and team highlights. During his time in Stillwater, he continually upgraded the team's technology, beginning with 16mm and going completely digital on XOS Thunder HD.
"Pitt's service to Oklahoma State and to Cowboy football over a span of many years was remarkable," coach Mike Gundy said. "He was outstanding at his job and played an important role in helping me do mine. We are going to miss his sense of humor and everything that he brought to our program."
"Pitt" as he was widely known, passed away on Sept. 20, 2015, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 54 years old. A Pittsburgh, Penn., native and 1990 graduate of Oklahoma State, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and son, Nicholas.
