STILLWATER, Okla. – Five Oklahoma State wrestlers were recognized as members of the 2016 National Wrestling Coaches Association's All-Academic Team.
All-American Anthony Collica, who finished fourth at 149 pounds, is earning his third-consecutive honor as a member of the academic squad.
2016 NCAA Champion at 141 pounds Dean Heil was named to the team for the second time in his career.
They are joined by All-American Nolan Boyd, Big 12 champion Preston Weigel and NCAA qualifier Gary Wayne Harding, all receiving the honor for the first time.
The Cowboys represent five of 123 student-athletes to earn the recognition. Heil, Collica and Boyd are three of 36 All-Americans on the list.
"One of the rigors of Division I athletics and wrestling specifically are the physical and mental demands," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. "It's a testament to our sport that we have academically excelled in a variety of different educational environments."
