Zach Bauchou Victorious At ORU Shootout

TULSA, Okla. — Oklahoma State freshman Zach Bauchou claimed his first collegiate victory on Tuesday after firing a bogey-free 66 to claim medalist honors at the ORU Shootout at Forest Ridge Golf Club.
Bauchou, who was one of four Cowboys competing at the event individually, posted his closing 6-under score to finish at 4-under 212 and two shots ahead of sophomore teammate Sam Stevens.
After opening with rounds of 75 and 71, Bauchou stood in a tie for fourth place entering Tuesday's final round. The Forest, Va., native's outward nine began with three pars in a row before birdies at the fourth and seventh led to a 2-under 34 total. Following pars at Nos. 10-12, Bauchou reeled off three consecutive birdies before posting a pair of pars to go with birdie No. 6 at the 18th.
Stevens opened play with a 76 before carding a pair of 69s to finish the event at 2-under 214 and alone in second place.
Sophomore Stratton Nolen followed an opening 71 with rounds of 77 and 73 to finish at 221 and in eighth place.
Junior Zachary Olsen carded rounds of 78, 75 and 74 to tie for 22nd place at 227.
The Cowboys will be back in action this weekend when they begin play at The Maxwell in Ardmore, Okla.
